Overview
EarlyTect® is a non-invasive stool DNA test designed to support colorectal cancer screening by detecting abnormal of the SDC2 (Syndecan-2) gene.
The test is intended for use by healthcare professionals as part of a structured colorectal cancer screening or diagnostic pathway.
EarlyTect® offers an alternative option for patients who are unwilling or unable to undergo invasive procedures such as colonoscopy.
What is EarlyTect®?
EarlyTect® is a molecular diagnostic test that analyses stool-derived DNA for abnormal methylation of SDC2 gene, a biomarker associated with colorectal cancer and advanced adenomas.

How EarlyTect® Works
1. Stool sample collection
The patient collects a stool sample using a dedicated collection kit.
2. Laboratory analysis
Stool-derived DNA is analysed using a validated molecular assay to assess SDC2 methylation
3. Result Reporting
Results are returned to the requesting clinician to support screening and follow-up decisions.
EarlyTect® does not require bowel preparation, anesthesia, or fasting.
Clinical Performance
Clinical studies have reported:
- Sensitivity of approximately 90% for colorectal cancer detection
- Specificity of approximately 90%
- Consistent detection across cancer stages and tumour locations
EarlyTect® is designed as a screening or adjunctive tool and does not replace colonoscopy, which remains the diagnostic reference standard.
