Cancer

Cancer accounts for around 18 % of deaths globally. Despite more than 20 million new cancer cases each year globally, survival is improving as a result of continuing innovation in diagnostics and treatments.

And with improved knowledge of risk factors, many cancers can be reduced or prevented by avoiding known risk factors and implementing evidence-based prevention strategies.

By detecting cancer early and avoiding delays in care significant improvements can be made in the lives of and survival prospects for cancer patients.

Cancer treatment is being improved with the application of personalised or precision medicine. The ability to analyse, integrate and interpret genomic, clinical and diagnostic data to identify individual risk of developing disease, detect the first signs of illness earlier, provide accurate diagnosis and determine the most effective interventions can have a transformative effect.

The major benefits of ‘right first time’ treatment includes quicker improved outcomes and cost savings.

The provision of innovative diagnostic tools has a key role to play in the era of personalised medicine.

This is an area in which EDX Medical aspires to excel, offering health care providers access to the most advanced portfolio of molecular testing products and solutions for their clinical practice.

We develop innovative cancer tests at our laboratories in Cambridge, UK and with partners such as Thermo Fisher EMEA Ltd., a world leader in life sciences solutions.

Where a class-leading test has already been developed and clinically validated, we offer these under partnership agreements with the original developers.

All cancer tests offered by EDX Medical are approved for use and distribution by the appropriate regulatory authorities.
